Formed in 2002, Elliott BROOD united teenage pals Casey Laforet, Mark Sasso over their grown-up love for Neil Young, the Band and the Flying Burrito Brothers. Stephen Pitkin was an accidental miracle: he fell into the group after working sound at one of their earliest concerts, offering to record their first EP. Tin Type was a college radio hit and soon this compact trio was making some big noise. Across five subsequent albums, sharing vocals and trading instruments – each of the band-members seems to play everything – Elliott Brood have become one of the premier acts in Canadian roots music.

The Denis Sisters have been playing music for a long time. Their earliest memories are of watching the adults dance around a big kitchen table while their grandfather and great-uncles played bluegrass and old country. They wanted to join, and so it began. Over the years, both sisters have been involved in bands and musical projects together and separately, including Spectrum, The Guess What, Skunk Hip Soup, and Bill Connelly & The Pine Bark Bunch. Lynda is currently recording a collaboration of original music with The Widows Jane, and also occasionally plays with The Mud Hens. Darlene plays with Potluck and also sometimes has the privilege to join The Richmond Ramblers onstage.

Elliott BROOD will perform at Nick Smith Centre Hall in Arnprior on Friday September 23 at 7:30PM.
